We're Just Yammin'

Hey All,

How was that Kale and Broccoli Salad? I know I loved it.

This week I tried something I've made before in a new fashion -because who doesn't like edible bowls? I'm a fan of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking, the fragrance of spices filling the kitchen tend to lead me to pick at my food before it's even plated (I JUST CAN'T HELP IT, OKAY?!) As someone who recently decided to no longer eat meat, its been part of my goal to be more creative with the things I've made, as well as it is initially to try new and healthy things. Chickpea is such a tasty alternative, while still getting great source of fiber, protein, and minerals. YUM. This recipe kind of reminds me of a Tikka Masala, though without the thick tomato and cream sauce.

Check out how I did it:

Eat Your Broccoli & Kale!

Hey Everyone!

How's prepping been?

This week I made something fairly simple and with few ingredients, but incredibly tasty and healthy.

Kale is one of those foods that the world is trending on these days. Between smoothies, chips, guac-KALE-mole (I just made some tonight,) and a million other different creations, you can have it just about anyway you can think. Broccoli is too, though not as appetizing in a guac, there are a number of different ways you could have it. I'm also convinced avocado is natures butter. Did you ever think that all of these could be amazing with just a little lime juice? It's fantastic. I stumbled upon a recipe from the app Prepd after purchasing their lunchbox. It's filled with plenty of recipes including this one. It's so simple, and here's how to do it:

Vegetarian Burrito Bowls

I love going out to eat just as much as the next Robert. Chipotle and Moe's are fantastic, but when they're hitting you up for around $10 a bowl, its easy to see where the paycheck goes. I'm not working just to afford eating fancy every day! Just to be clear, however, I do enjoy fancy foods. I love them, in fact. But what I love more than eating them is learning how to make them and saving some money.

We're all fans of a good burrito bowl, agreed? Yes? Good. Here's something you can make for yourself to prep for 4 days of lunch, save money, and eat healthier using these simple ingredients.
